Kambo
Kambo is a traditional Amazonian medicine derived from the secretion of the Giant Green Monkey Tree Frog. Used by many Indigenous groups for purification, stamina, and spiritual protection, it is often offered before plant medicine ceremonies to clear the physical and energetic body.
🐸 What Is Kambo?
Kambo is not a psychedelic. It is a powerful purgative medicine that works on the lymphatic and immune systems, stimulating a deep detoxification response. It is applied through small superficial burns on the skin, where the medicine is absorbed directly into the bloodstream.
The experience is intense but short, typically lasting 20–40 minutes. Most people report a rapid onset of purging (vomiting, sweating, shaking), followed by a deep sense of clarity and energetic reset.
💧 Ceremony Structure
Our Kambo sessions are optional and conducted with shamans in a highly safe and supported environment. Each session includes:
- Health screening and informed consent
- Preparation and hydration before application
- Controlled administration of the medicine through “gates” on the skin
- Active monitoring and support throughout the session
- Gentle recovery and integration afterward
🧬 Benefits & Intentions
Kambo is often used to clear toxins, boost immunity, release emotional stagnation, and open the body for deeper spiritual work. While it can be physically challenging, many participants report feeling lighter, more energized, and clearer in the days following.
Some use Kambo to release chronic fatigue, grief, or heaviness that impedes spiritual connection.
⚠️ Safety & Considerations
Kambo is not appropriate for everyone. A medical intake is required, and individuals with certain heart conditions, low blood pressure, or psychiatric conditions may not be eligible. We take safety seriously and ensure all sessions are trauma-informed, medically aware, and fully supported.
🌱 A Gateway to Clarity
While Kambo is not for the faint of heart, it is a respected and transformative rite of purification. For those who feel called, it can be a profound first step in the journey of deep healing and reconnection.
